Which zone, and what it really costs.
There are more than forty free zones and perhaps six that suit most businesses. The difference is activity list, banking reputation, visa quota and the cost of the second and third year.
CHOOSING
What separates one zone from another.
Activity list
Your activity has to exist on the zone's list and match what you actually do. Approximating it causes problems at banking and at renewal.
Banking reputation
Banks apply their own view of each zone. A cheap licence from a zone the banks are slow with is a false economy.
Quota and premises
Flexi-desk allocations are small. If you need six visas, price the office you will need for six visas from the start.
Renewal, not setup
Year one is discounted almost everywhere. Compare year two and year three, and ask what the deregistration costs.
