THE READ
Who it suits, and when it does not.
It suits
Commodities and trading businesses, companies that need to bank quickly with a tier-one bank, and any structure where counterparty perception matters more than the licence fee.
Look elsewhere if
A one-person consultancy with international clients is paying for credibility it may not need. Price SHAMS, RAKEZ or IFZA on the same specification before committing.
QUESTIONS
Asked about this zone.
Is DMCC worth roughly three times SHAMS?
If banking is the binding constraint, often yes. Weeks of onboarding delay and a possible rejection cost more than the licence difference. If your bank is already comfortable, it is not.
Does DMCC give a renewal grace period?
Treat it as none. DMCC is among the zones with no grace on renewal, so diarise the date.
